Dyer Mines
The Dyer Mines are a set of abandoned copper mines just north of Vernal in the Uintah Mountains.
There are signs of mining when coming close to the mining area. A couple old cabins, some carts, tanks, and markings help indicate the use of the area. Many of the mines in the area are collapsed, and other than a few shafts, few entrances that extend deeply can be found. It should be noted, however, the the author of this article explored the area under snowfall, and much still remains to be discovered.
Geological Composition
Some minerals found in the mine include Azurite, Bornite, Chalcocite, Copper, Hematite, Malachite, Pyrite, and many more.
