Utah Launch Complex
The Utah Launch Complex, also known as the Green River Missile Complex, was built for testing of Athena and Pershing missiles. The complex was last used around 1974/1975, as has been in caretaker status ever since. The lack of No Tresspassing signs are an inviting call for urban speleologists. The site has been a topic of great debate, called "[The New Area 51]" by Popular Mechanics. Green River Mayor Judy Ann Scott claims some "big military" helicopters landed there a little bit back. She has been known to be very secretive when the topic of the location ever comes up. There is a bit of good reading on the location in the links listed below. This is definatly a place we will be going.
These pools are big enough to comfortably hold two people in each of them. Each pool has the ability to maintain a temperature comfortable to the users. Hot water flows on one side of the pool, while cold water flows on the other. The locals maintain the pools by draining them and scrubbing them with bleach and a brush. Trash is not taken lightly by the locals, and have been known to show up to beer parties by brandishing shotguns and blocking the road until their messes are cleaned up.
The hot springs sit just east of a volcanic lava flow, and the Fumarole Butte. The water is heated by the lava, which is not far from the surface. The last eruption probably occurred around 14,000 years ago while under the glacial Bonneville Lake.

Directions
Baker Hot Springs is located 16 miles west of the Intermountain Power Plant near Delta. Turn towards the Intermountain Power Plant (HWY174) from SR-36 just south of Lynndyl, Utah. Head west 16 to 18 miles. Turn right onto the next dirt road you come to (it's the only road to the right that has a stop sign, 16 to 18 miles west of SR-36) and follow that road 7 miles. Watch for the willows off the right side of the road.
