Crystal Peak is at the northern end of the Wah Wah Range. With the slightest sense of direction, a traveler can spot the peak from many miles away. Its unusual appearance is the draw... a huge mound of white volcanic tuff eroded by the elements. It is not unlike the strange rocks of the Newfoundland Mountains, or the Lace Curtain on the north face of Pahvant Butte. Unlike the range of which is a part, Crystal Peak predates the fault-blocking that formed the basin and range topography of the Great Basin.
