Frisco is a Ghost Town in Beaver County, Utah, United States,  It was an active mining camp from 1879 to 1929.

==History==
In Septemer of 1875, Jim Ryan and Sam Hawkes accidentally discovered a  small deposit of pure silver on a boulder they walked passed daily.  They took the deposit to town and recieved $25,000 for it.  They staked a claim and called the area Bonanza.  Their Bonanza claim eventually gained them $50,000,000 from the single lode.  People began flocking into Bonanza with high hopes of making a large profit.  So much silver was within the mountain that a railroad was built, bringing in people from all over the county.  

Frisco developed as the post office and commercial center for the San Francisco Mining District, and was the terminus of the Utah Southern Railroad extension from Milford, Utah. The Horn Silver mine was discovered in 1875 and had produced $20,267,078 worth of ore by 1910. By 1885 over $60,000,000 worth of zinc, copper, lead, silver, and gold had been transported from Frisco from the many mines in the area.

With 23 Western saloons, Frisco was known as the wildest town in the Great Basin. Killings were common, and drinking water had to freighted in and sold for .5c per bucket.  Two shots of whiskey were sold for a quarter.  So many men were murdered and killed in gun fights that the city hired a meat wagon to pick up the corpses and bury them.  The population reached 6000 in the early 1880s.

Frisco's fortunes changed suddenly on February 13, 1885, when the Horn Silver Mine caved in completely. It was an unconventional mine, an open pit 900ft deep braced with a jungle of timbers, and could have collapsed at any time.  A very large portion of silver still resides within the mountain.

== Dangers ==
Certain mines are known to have Hydrogen Sulfide, a sour gas that can kill with a few wiffs. Luckily, it smells terrible and you know its there. Present are shafts, portals, old structures, barbed wiring, and very loose rock.
